The increase in opportunities for teens to work may be contributing to the increase in teens in the workforce. They are able to work seasonally and also around school schedules, allowing them to work several hours weekly, which classifies them as employed. Also, the increased demand for the workforce and business expansion allow teens to work. Since they are inexperienced, companies usually only pay the teens less than a more experienced worker. Another reason more teens are in the workforce is inflation and the increase in the cost of living
