Respond to this post below on how they make good points about three important components of an effectively designed game.

The top three most important components of an effectively designed game are:

1. Fun factor- Any game, especially for an esport, needs to be fun. You don't want to just run a game for an esport because you're good at it, you also want to run a game that is fun and you won't get tired of. The best esport games are what you find fun playing, not what others find fun playing. For example, I love playing fighting games for esports because I enjoy them, and also because I don't get tired of playing them. I don't really play first person shooter games when it comes to esports, as while I do enjoy them, I can get tired of them pretty quickly.

2. Good multiplayer- When it comes to esports, the worst thing you can come across is a game with a terrible netcode. I have a perfect example: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I really love playing Ultimate, everything about the game just feels perfect. However, the one thing holding this game back is the online. I have a group of friends I typically play the game with, but the problem is none of us live in the same state, so it's very difficult for us to even play the game in person. With the online, we run into major hiccups and lag because the netcode is terrible. Most of our matches lag, stop, or worst case scenario even just straight up disconnect. It's hard to gauge our skill levels against each other because of this.

3. Competitive depth- When it comes to esports, you want your games to be competitively viable. It's worth pointing out that while yes, usually the most recent versions of a game are played for tournament, you get the ones that stick around. However, there are some games that just aren't good competitively. One of my favorite examples to use is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I really love this game, but as a competitive game, it's not good in the slightest. Random tripping, slow gameplay, terrible character balance. It all makes for a meh game competitively, but a very good casual one.
