respond to this post in 100 words or more. The "Snapshot" and "Virtue" activity, went over many virtues that could be relevant to any athletic program. These activities made you consider what virtues you value in relation to athletic programs. Some examples may be: self-discipline, service, sportsmanship, accountability, fairness, trust, respect, etc. As an AD, I can see why you would want to work with your coaches to develop a vision for the athletic program as a whole. It would be beneficial to look at virtues and work together to decide which are the most important in your district and to your athletes. As an AD, you could lead this meeting with the coaches and any other stakeholders that you feel need to be involved. From there, coaches could use the virtues and vision that was discussed to develop their own plan for teaching these in their programs. It would be essential as an AD to make this effective to meet with the coaches regularly to discuss how they are implementing these. Providing additional PD to coaches that may struggle with character building may be necessary. After this week's readings, it has made me sit back and look at what character development looks like in the athletic programs at our district. I honestly feel like this is something that is lacking - my own program included. It is something that needs to be organized and planned. I think this is an area I could definitely grow in as a coach and in a future role as an AD
