This is when a business owner intentionally does something harmful to his or her business in the intention of collecting the insurance money. This is a very serious crime and is punishable by fines, court fees, restitution and prison time. Often times business owners get away with this the first time, however will then open another business and attempt the same scam and get caught, however many get caught their first attempt. Having a good understanding of these crimes as a business owner will allow you to run your business properly and accordingly to the law without any repercussions. However if the business owner is unwilling to understand or does not understand the severity of these crimes and how it will affect not only their business but their lives over all, then their business will ultimately fail
