Creative thinking is also a key attribute that leaders should possess. Creative thinking should be viewed as more of a mindset than a skill. It requires the leader to possess the ability to examine problems from a fresh perspective to develop solutions (Department of the Army, 2019). There is a connection between critical and creative thinking with the information presented thus far in AL&IT and leader development. When leaders use both critical and creative thinking, they should avoid impulsive conclusions and be willing to explore new ideas (Department of the Army, 2019). Learning these attributes and skills in leader development prepares the future leader to be effective when it comes to problem solving
