Restate your problem statement: The Air Force's training quality and quantity is problematic.

Describe the predicted demographics of your target audience based on the context of the problem, the environment, and your prior research. Include as many of the following details as you can identify:

    • Age: 18-45
    • Gender: Predominantly males but females are included
    • Culture: The training issue effects everyone with different cultural background
    • Religious beliefs: The training issue effects everyone with different religious beliefs
    • Education level: High School Diploma to PhD
    • Occupation: Military and DoD Civilians

Describe the possible psychographic concerns your target audience may have. Consider the following:

    • Preexisting ideas about the issue: There are various opinions surrounding this issue. Some say that the training we get is adequate some don't. It is also career specific. Someone who works in the services career field (Dining facility, Mortuary Service, or Post Office) may not require the technical expertise of someone who works on propulsion systems, weapons systems or air traffic control.
    • Personal or group biases: There is a human factor to addressing training. To address them locally can pose a challenge. Leaders often get blamed for training or lack there of. It's one of the most difficult aspects of being a leader is to ensure your team has everything they need. Stating that training is not adequate could translate to leaders not doing a portion of their job, which could lead to some resistance in admitting that there is a problem in the first place.
    • Prior experiences with the issue: We get designated training days and scheduled computer based trainings (CBTs). However, it is virtually impossible to make up training in one day or learn anything from a CBT where it isn't always interactive or challenging.
  • Based on possible psychographic concerns you find, formulate a communication plan based on what you want your audience to know about the problem. As stated in the course textbook,
  • Know: Provide factual data and evidence supporting the training issues, such as statistics on performance gaps, feedback from trainees, and comparisons with industry standards. Clearly outline areas where training falls short and its impact on mission readiness and effectiveness.
  • Feel: Appeal to the audience's passion for excellence and commitment to national defense. Highlight how addressing training deficiencies can enhance individual and collective capabilities, leading to increased mission success and safety. Emphasize the importance of continuous improvement in ensuring the Air Force remains at the forefront of technological advancements and operational excellence. Acknowledge the challenges faced by leaders in addressing training issues and reassure them that addressing these concerns is a collective responsibility aimed at strengthening the organization as a whole.

Question: Guided Response: Review several of your classmates' posts and respond to at least two of your peers. Evaluate the examples from your peers and provide your perspective. Your response should be a minimum of 75 words. In your peer responses,

  • Explain if you agree or disagree with the psychographic concerns.
  • Share additional thoughts about what the audience should know about the problem.
