- Decide on a format
- Use Word to create your resume; however, do NOT use a Word template!
- Create a professional letterhead with your contact information for the top (this will be used for all of your employment documents such as resume, cover letter, reference list, and thank you letter)
- Create your resume using action verbs with consistent English language tense
- Remember to highlight your accomplishments
- Qualify statements where you can (how much of something did you do)
- Quantify statements where you can (how well did you do something)
- Make sure your formatting is consistent where it should be, spellchecked, edited, reviewed, and as error free as possible
- Limit your resume to 1-2 pages (use only 2 pages if you are older and have significant experiences)
