  1. Decide on a format
  2. Use Word to create your resume; however, do NOT use a Word template!
  3. Create a professional letterhead with your contact information for the top (this will be used for all of your employment documents such as resume, cover letter, reference list, and thank you letter)
  4. Create your resume using action verbs with consistent English language tense
  5. Remember to highlight your accomplishments
  6. Qualify statements where you can (how much of something did you do)
  7. Quantify statements where you can (how well did you do something)
  8. Make sure your formatting is consistent where it should be, spellchecked, edited, reviewed, and as error free as possible
  9. Limit your resume to 1-2 pages (use only 2 pages if you are older and have significant experiences)
  10. Submit your finished draft here
