Lois and Clark are adopting a daughter. Lois is a national digital manager for Kryptonite Chemicals. She wants time off to be with her daughter and file for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act.

1. Does Lois have a qualifying event under the FMLA? If so, what is it?
2. If so, what other two key pieces of information will factor into whether she is entitled to leave (assume that her position is a full-time position)?
3. If she is entitled to leave, how much leave and what are the requirements for Drip with respect to what they have to do for her when she returns to work?
4. How does the statute (1) benefit and (2) adversely impact Kryptonite as the employer? (Note, this answer isn't in the text. I am looking for your own thoughts.)
