Rishi who was on track to graduate with a first-class honours degree was furious when he discovered Harry, Moses and other students had copied his coursework answer. All the students were under investigation for plagiarism. To get even, Rishi sprayed paint over Harry's hair and punched him in the face, causing a ring he was wearing to cut Harry's cheek. The cut aggravated a pre-existing blood condition which led to Harry developing a serious infection.

At a student party, Rishi, who had been drinking heavily, spotted Moses and his friends. Rishi was still angry and in a confused state he thought he might be attacked, so he swung his bag at Moses but missed, striking Daisy who was knocked unconscious for a few moments.

After the party, Rishi fell into a deep depression about his course, was convinced he was going to be expelled and started having panic attacks. He was given medication to control the symptoms which he was instructed by his doctor to take with a meal. Rishi also began to hear voices in his head and was convinced that bad spirits were attacking him. Before the final lecture, Rishi took more pills than instructed and failed to eat. He spotted Moses and his friends in a lecture hall and heard them laughing at him. He overheard the words: "what a loser, he's failed his course, we set him up". He grabbed a lectern which he use to strike Moses several times until he was dead.

Advise Rishi on his criminal liability, if any for offences he may be liable for and on any defences he may plead.

Note, in the case of Moses's murder, you do not need to discuss the offence of murder in detail, rather advise on defences.
