Rojin was an alcoholic and every time that she got drunk she would beat her wife Deepika. One day she came

in from a lunchtime drinking session and threatened to punch her. However, before she could do so she fell

into a drunken sleep on the sofa. Deepika went to the kitchen, took out a carving knife, sharpened it and

fatally stabbed Rojin as she slept. Meanwhile, Deepika's brother Deesh was at the local department store's

summer sale. He saw a jacket that he wanted to buy but he couldn't reach it because another shopper, Brian,

was in front of him. Deesh elbowed Brian out of the way, but Brian slipped on the shiny floor and fell into a

display case. The case shattered and Brian received a severe cut to his face.Deesh tried to flee, but two men

who had seen what had happened ran after him. Deesh ran into the sports department and picked up a golf

club, he waved it at the two men and advanced on them. One of the men, Jonathan, ran away but the other,

Tony, stood his ground. Deesh hit Tony with the club breaking his jaw. Deesh was arrested shortly afterwards.

Consider the offences that may have been committed by Rojin and Deesh and any defences that may be available to them.
