Ronald Swoboda sued Parody Productions (parent company of Hero Decks) in Louisiana for publishing baseball cards showing his picture and his record without having paid him. He asked for an injunction and damages. Parody, an Ohio corporation, requested exemption from jurisdiction and it was granted. Swoboda appealed.
