Ronnie Zepp, a famous actor in Hollywood, and Kimber Verd married in February 2015. Later, Verd filed for divorce and obtained a temporary restraining order against Zepp because Zepp had been abusing her physically due to alcohol. However, Zepp opposed Verd's accusations hence indicating that Verd was looking for financial resolutions through the case. On May 27, 2016, Verd was photographed with a large bruise covering the left side of her face, which made people think that Zepp was responsible for her injuries. However, the photograph never covered the injury accusations in court. Zepp and Verd reached a settlement in August and finalized their divorce in 2017. As a result, Verd requested for the restraining order termination, and she and Zepppp released a joint statement stating that their relationship was "intensely passionate and periodically volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm." Zepp paid a divorce settlement of $7 million, which she pledged to donate to the American Civil Liberties Union and Los Angeles Children's Hospital. Moreover, The settlement included a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) preventing either party from discussing their relationship publicly. In December 2018, Verd published an op-ed through pashington Worst newspaper indicating how he had experienced domestic violence, which was triggered by a cultural inclination to protect men. She asserted that the abuser was set free because he was a prominent member of Hollywood. Through the piece, she called for a reunion to fight against male chauvinism. However, she never mentioned Zepp's name. When the article went viral, Zepp resigned from his major role in the "Wizarding World" film. Consequently, Zepp was dismissed from additional roles and endorsement and banned from red-carpet appearances, major premieres, and other A-list events. Due to the mistreatments he had received from Hollywood, Zepp filed a suit against Verb for invasion of privacy, asserting that due to her statements, he had lost lucrative acting roles and endorsements.
