The device has ability to provide incredibly clear images. The mechanism of imaging used by the device is similar to that of x-ray but safer because the x-ray film is replaced by solid detectors that convert the rays into electric signals. The signal produces images that can be seen on computer screen and can be enlarged, darkened or lightened. The principal use of this equipment is to detect lumps or solids in breast that could cause cancer. It speeds up the whole process with increased accuracy and reliability unlike the traditional methods on self-examination. This equipment also saved live by enabling detection of cancer at the earliest stage when it can still be controlled. Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) This is medical equipment that helps localize the area being treated and also confirm how the treatment was delivered to the tumor.it delivers radiation treatment to cancerous cells with a lot of precision. The device is particularly useful where the area where the tumor is located keeps moving e.g. in respiratory system. TECHNOLOGY TRENDS 3 IGRT is basically used to treat and monitor the treatment of cancer. Oncologist uses the device to locate the tumor and position the patient for treatment. This equipment has helped in cancer treatment and monitoring of the process. It has also eased the work of doctors by speeding up location of the tumor and its treatment. Computed Tomography Scan (CT scan) Refer to diagnostic imaging procedures which use combination of computer technology and x-ray to produce cross-sectional images of the body. A CT scan Machine is complex device that is capable of providing very detailed images speedily and from different angles as required by the physician. CT scan is used to diagnose internal organ abnormalities including tumor selection, blood clot location, and brain damage among others. It can also be used to determine the gender of unborn child and any detect if there's any disorder. This device has had a great impact in medical industry. For instance, it has speeded up the detection of any disorders and also facilitated provision of right medication by providing very accurate diagnosis. Da Vinci Surgical System This is a revolutionary robotic surgery technology that utilizes 3D and High Definition to facilitate complex surgery. The equipment is a virtual extension of surgeon eye that improves the accuracy and safety in surgery performance. TECHNOLOGY TRENDS 4 The device assists in surgery performance and reduces invasive complex surgical procedures. Its impacts on medical industry include the reduction of surgery time, improved safety in surgery and reduction of infection after surgery. Recommended technology trend in health care organization Telemedicine and remote care Refer to a technology that will allow doctors and patients have a connectivity. They will communicate and seek for assistant faster. It will also enable the doctors to monitor the health of the patient in a remote location. The technology will save on cost, time and also save lives. The 3D printing revolution 3D printers are emerging as very vital medical equipment. They are very pivotal in regenerative medicine, as that can be used to create tissues and even organs. This trend of medical advancement is quite affordable yet revolutionary at the same time. Medical organization should embrace the technology if they are to realize the advancement. Body sensors TECHNOLOGY TRENDS 5 These are tiny wearable sensors that collect vital heal data without interfering with someone's life. They are inexpensive and very convenient.
