Sally is three years old and has just commenced at Happy Children's early learning center. She has cerebral palsy and is an only child. Her parents are concerned about how she will cope in the childcare program. Sally cannot walk or feed herself and is still in nappies. Prior to starting in care her childhood intervention worker, Sue, helped the family to arrange a meeting with Mary, the educator, and a four-day orientation process was arranged. At the meeting, they talked about Sally's abilities, strengths, and needs. During the meeting it was decided that the service would apply for funding for an additional person in the room to help ensure that Sally would be included in the programs and activities and help with toileting and feeding.
