Sangita is bridesmaid to her best friend Katie Crispin. For the hen do, Sangita decides to organise a classy meal in an expensive central London restaurant, Petushki's. All the bridesmaids agree that Sangita will pay for the meal upfront and they will reimburse her. When she makes the booking, Sangita gives her own details and tells them it will be a party of 7 bridesmaids for Katie Crispin's hen do. Petushki's takes a deposit. On the day, Petushki's fails to live up to its side of the bargain. On arrival, the party has to wait an hour to be seated and a further hour for food to arrive. When it does arrive, it is cold. Katie is quite disappointed and the others are annoyed but take solace in the flowing champagne. When the final bill for 1000 arrives, Sangita feels she should challenge it but she is quite tipsy and the waiters look grumpy so instead of disrupting the evening, she decides to settle up. However, one of the other bridesmaids is more argumentative and tells the manager she'll sue Petushki's, to which he responds, "You didn't pay the bill - you haven't got a leg to stand on!"
