Santa Claus cares about the environment. In an effort to reduce his environmental footprint, he purchases a new electric sleigh. Unknown to Santa, the new electric sleigh has a manufacturing glitch that causes the brakes to fail if those brakes are used extensively in extreme temperature changes over short periods of time. Santa is doing a practice run for Christmas night, and he sees Grandma in the crosswalk. He attempts to slow down, but the sleigh doesn't respond to his pressing the brake. He runs over Grandma with the sleigh.
