Scenario:

A young couple decides to treat themselves to a night out at their favourite restaurant. The restaurant is very popular and reservations must be made in advance. It is some distance from their home and can only be reached by car, the visit takes place on a cold night in February.

At the restaurant the couple each have an appetizer, a main course and dessert. The gentleman has a drink before his meal and they both have a glass of wine with their meal.

An hour before the couple arrive the restaurant's bartender calls in sick and the manager has to scramble to find a temporary replacement.

Task:

1. Develop a series of Flowcharts (as many as you feel necessary) to identify the nature and sequence of the different steps involved when the couple 'flows' through the restaurant's process. This should also include every related activity undertaken both front stage and backstage by the restaurant's staff during each of the 3 main process steps; pre-process, in-process and post-process.

Identify one potential Fail point and one potential Wait point and indicate how you would design your process to eliminate them.
