Because of increasing industrial unrest in South Africa, plus the rising cost of labour in

this country, Truworths1 is strongly considering moving their manufacturing facility offshore, and is looking at various options.

A senior executive at Truworths has suggested that the company should consider setting up a factory in Bangladesh, as the cost of labour there is very cheap, and the Bangladeshi workers are compliant and productive. As CEO of Truworths, you have decided to do an analysis of the Bangladesh macro business environment, to assist you in deciding whether or not to move your production facilities to Bangladesh.

Requirements and guidelines are as follows:

1.1 Use Ghemawat's CAGE framework to arrive at an awareness and understanding of the major differences (or "distances") between South Africa and Bangladesh.

1.2 Draft a report showing your findings, and include a motivated recommendation on whether or not Truworths should go ahead and invest in Bangladesh, based on your findings.
