Scenario: COVID-19

COVID-19 is a global pandemic. You are currently an accounting technician for a privately-owned company - a puzzle and games store in your hometown with one bricks and mortar location. You had previously worked out of an office space housed in the backroom area of the store. Following provincial guidelines, your company has asked you to continue your accounting role but from home as they shift their primary bricks and mortar sales strategy to an online sales model.

Your Task

make a presentation that identifies the following:

• All resources you will require to do your job from home in Canada.
• A communication plan for staying in contact with those you work with and report to.
• The difference of primarily online sales versus in-store sales to your role as an accounting technician.
• Some challenges you may have to overcome in your role as the transition from in office to at home work occurs and what you can do to overcome these hurdles.
• Areas where you can offer to assist that were not previously a part of your in office role, but would be much appreciated during this time.
• Three resources that would be highly helpful in supporting your transition from in person work to remote work.
