Scenario - Providing workplace information A month ago, you were asked by management to prepare and deliver a presentation on the health, safety and security requirements for new staff who join the kitchen at The Righteous Inn. Their request was spawned by the need to ensure the organisation discharges its Duty of Care and their Duty to Consult, and the fact there have been three accidents in the kitchen over the past 3 months where kitchen staff have been injured and required time off work. One was burned on a hot oven, one received steam burns/scalds when handling a large pot of soup and one received back injuries when moving a delivery of bags of flour. Management want you to make a presentation to them of the material you plan to give to new staff, so they can check for themselves that all the required areas they believe should be covered have indeed been addressed. The presentation is today, and you grab your things and head off to the Board Room - the presentation starts in 30 minutes. Time to shine
