School disaster planners point out that survival in a major earthquake will depend on how well$-$prepared individuals and programs are to care for themselves during the first $72$ hours following an earthquake. Fires, bomb threats, and lock downs are other potential emergencies that we need to secure plans for. Planning will help in making sound decisions during a crisis.

Each student is responsible to create an emergency plan for an Early Childhood Education Center or their own home. Your plan may be for Earthquake or Fire Preparedness, Lockdown Procedure, or what to do in case of a Bomb Threat. If you choose a school site, interview the director$/$teacher$/$office manager $($either in person, or over the phone or Zoom$),$ as well as request the evacuation plan to help you create YOUR Emergency Plan for the school facility.
