Scope: After years of working hard to build your software company, you were recently offered a large sum of money to sell your interest. As a condition of the sell, you will remain for six months to ensure a smooth transition. As a celebration, you decided to take your best friend on a trip to Europe for 6 weeks. You nor your best friend have ever been out of the country and don't even have a passports. Your best friend has always dreamed of taking a cooking class in Tuscany and to stay in the village of San Gimignano. You have always wanted to go to see the Northern lights in Iceland and want to make sure you choose the best time of year to go. Additionally, your favorite aunt bought a Bed and Breakfast on the lake in Athlone, Ireland five years ago. You want to spend at least one week with her. To make sure the trip goes smoothly and that you don't miss critical planning dates while transitioning your job responsibilities, you decide to plan the tasks and make a schedule. Your schedule will include the preparation activities before and during the trip.

Instruction: Create a Work Breakdown Structure for the scope. Account for the activities for the planning phase and execution phase of the trip. Activities should include but not limited to transportation to the sites to visit. Milestones should include key events discussed in the scope. Students are encouraged to add additional activities not specifically identified in the scope. Use research and your judgment to determine the type and duration of the activities. Use the network diagramming technique to the determine the critical path. Submit the work breakdown structure, gantt chart, and network diagram as the project submission.
