Script for collecting an unpaid bill: Me: Good morning, this Peggy from Dr. Klein's office, I am calling to speak with Ms. Rosie Longbottom. Rosie: Hi, hey I know that you're calling about my bill, but I lost it. And to be frank, I don't have any money to spare at this time. Me: Am I speaking with Rosie Longbottom? Rosie: Yes, who else did you think I was? Me: (in a soothing voice) Ms. Longbottom, I am calling about your bill from February 12th for the amount of $120. However, we have financial plans available for people who are struggling with their payments. Would you consider discussing one that might your needs? Rosie: It's Peggy, right? Look I am not making up stories here, I... don't...have ...money...to spare! Me: (again in a soothing voice) I understand that you are struggling with finances right now. Perhaps if the amount was small enough for you to fit into your budget? Is there an amount you could pay? Rosie: Well, I suppose I could pay $5 every payday. I get paid every other week. Me: I am sure that will be fine...did you want to pay with a card today? I can
