It has captive vendors who manufacture products and supply to SDPL. It takes care of quality aspect which is comparable to international standards. Within three years, SDPL has grown to company with 8% market share in the segment and turnover of Rs.400 crores. It employs around 500 people. The management of SDPL is aiming at 20% market share with 2000 crores in next five years. In their Top Management meeting they have discussed about the strategy to achieve the targets they wish to reach. They have a talent but not enough to drive the growth. There is a dearth of talent at Strategic level. Another factor that worries them is they have never assessed their employees' capabilities in formal way. There is no Talent Management department to give a focus. They are also worried about the cut throat competition in the segment and talent availability.
