Employee time sheets revealed the following: Indirect labor cost was $9,780. None of this cost had been paid as of the end of the month. Jobs 311, 313, and 314 were completed during the month. Job 311 was delivered to a customer on account at a price of cost plus 45 percent. 4. Product advertising costs incurred and paid were $1,700. 5. Depreciation on production machinery was $2,500. 1 Required: 1. Determine (a) the predetermined overhead rate for 2016, and (b) the total job cost at the end of February for each of the four jobs that was in process during February. The predetermined overhead rate cannot be determined directly, but can be determined indirectly from information in the quiz. Provide, in a logical sequence, complete and neat documentation of all computations. No credit will be given for figures requiring computations unless adequate documentation of those computations is displayed within the quiz solution. Prepare the computations with either word-processing or spreadsheet computer software. 2. Make all appropriate summary general journal entries to account for the transactions that the quiz information indicates occurred during February. All journal entries must be made in good form on a single sheet of paper using complete account titles with no abbreviations. Prepare the journal entries with either word-processing or spreadsheet computer software. The quiz is due and will be collected at the beginning of class (2:20 p.m.) on Tuesday, February 23. No quizzes will be accepted before this time unless prior approval is received from and arrangements are made with the instructor. No quizzes will be accepted after the time they are collected in class. Submit a printed copy of your quiz solution rather than the computer file(s). The first page(s) of the solution should be the answers and supporting computations related to Requirement 1. The final page of your solution should be the journal entries related to Requirement 2.
