Part 1: Find a quiet environment where you can sit still in a relaxed position with your eyes closed for 10 minutes. Then repeat the activity in a louder more public environment. This can be done on the same day or separate days. Your home, dorm, or library could be the quiet environment. A coffee shop, cafeteria, gym, or mall could be the louder environment (to make things less strange you could wear sunglasses). You are to finish 10 minutes in each of these 2 different environments with your eyes closed. Journal before and after each of these activities.
Part 2: Repeat the same activity this time with your eyes open and ear plugs and/or noise cancelling headphones so that you cannot hear anything (or at least sound is limited). Foam ear plugs and headphones together work best. Headphones should be used without music or other audio. While noise could be used, however ideally you want a total absence of sound/noise. Do the same as in part 1, 10 minutes in a quiet less busy environment and in a more public louder environment. Repeat the same environments you did with no sight if possible. Journal before and after each of these activities.
