Short Answer Questions For all questions, your answers should demonstrate your understanding of some portion of the course material. General discussions of the subject of a question, which do not clearly relate to the course material, will receive a zero. The approximate length of an answer should be between 150 and 200 words. It is okay if your answers vary a bit from this but they should not be too much shorter or longer. A warning will appear close to 150, but you may go over 150 words. Answers that greatly exceed 200 words, e.g. 300+ words, will not receive full credit. It is a good idea to make and save copies of your answers as you work. Question 1: (20 Points) On the one hand, society might opt for having only a few news sources. On the other hand, society might opt for having a large number and variety of news sources. Please explain some problems for critical thinking that might arise on the second option. For example, explain why the second option might still result in people having an overly narrow set of information and how the second option might result in people not having as many perspectives that critically challenge their own beliefs.
