Should There Be a "Good Faith" Requirement for a Person to Claim Adverse Possession $?$ The issue of whether an adverse possessor of another's property should do so in good faith has been debated for years $.$ In a highly publicized case in Boulder $,$ Col$-$ orado, in $2007$ the McLeans, a retired judge and his lawyer wife, knowingly used $1,400$ square feet of their neighbors $,$ the Kirlins $,$ property for $25$ years for a gar$-$ den, to store wood, and to entertain as well as a walkway to their patio $.$
