Show that only 3 of the 6 loop equations are independent by adding the equations from loops LA,LB, and LC to form any of the 3 other loop equations. For example, from Figure 3.5, loop LD appears to be a composite of loops LA and LB. Therefore, adding together the equations from loops LA and LB should yield the equation formed from loop LD. In general, the number of independent KVL equations is equal to the number of meshes. (A mesh is loop that does not enclose any other loops, e.g., the loops of LA,LB, and LC.)
