Siblings Stanley, Saira and Andrew are joint tenants on a vacant parcel of land in Trincity, which they inherited from their father in 1995. In December 2000, Saira served notice on Stanley and Andrew indicating that she would like to sever the tenancy. Neither Andrew nor Stanley replied to the notice. In January 2014, Andrew sold his interest to his business partner Natalia, for the sum of $500,000. Stanley returned to Trinidad in July 2014 and met with Saira and her husband Adil. After a lengthy discussion, they all agree for Stanley to transfer his interest to Saira. The very next day, Saira got a heart attack and died.
