Soccer ball case-job costing You have been approached by a European retailer who is interested in a special order of soccer balls. Your first task in considering this order is to develop an approximate "job cost" for the order. Here are the facts: The order will be for 1,000 soccer balls. You can manufacture the order in addition to whatever you intended to manufacture for the US customers for the next period. The direct materials cost per ball will be the same as the US soccer balls, except that you will have to pay and outside silk-screening contractor an additional 50 cents per ball to meet the specification of the customers request for multi-language script on the outside of each ball. Direct labor per ball will be the same as the balls manufactured for the US. You should develop a rational method for allocating the fixed factory manufacturing costs to this job. What is the estimated job cost for this 1,000 soccer ball order
