-Calculate the initial rate of Temperature rise (C/s) as soon as the microwave radiation is turned on.

-Calculate the rate of Temperature rise (C/s) when the Tumor is at 40.

A patient has a tumor which is wrapped around a blood vessel. The tumor is isolated thermally from the remainder of the body by manipulating it during surgery. This tumor is treated by heating through microwave radiation. This heating overwhelms the metabolic heating within the tumor so that it can be ignored. This microwave heating is so intense that any thermal gradients can be ignored. Magically, the heating does not affect the blood flow. The geometry can be simplified to the following shape. Assumptions: - Temperature gradients can be ignored (no conduction) - Only Tumor is heated by radiation - Blood flow is not affected by radiation - Metabolic heating is negligible - ALL temperatures = Body Temperature ( 36 at beginning of process - Radiation volumetric heat generation =3000[kW/m3] tCpttT=kx22TbCpbb(TTb)+Qp+Qm
