Software Evaluation Exercise For the assignment, you/your team need to do the following 1. Select a team (you can form a team of up to three or you can submit individually) 2. Review a list of potential vendors (provided in the word document below and a few of the vendor web sites) to gain an understanding of the capabilities of POS (point of sale) software providers. You can also do a google search to look at other potential vendors to consider. Also, review the functional requirements provided in the document below. Pick a POS software provider for you/your team and record it in the Assign 3 Sign Up Sheet e.Each team must select a different vendor (provider). 4. Assess the selected POS vendor on the various criteria included in the software rating worksheet For each category, you will need to assign a score from 1-10 with 10 being the best or highest and 1 being the lowest or worst The functional requirements should be based on the functions defined in (A) When you assign a score to an assessment category (e.g. cost), you must also provide a description of your rationale or logic on how you arrived at the score. For example, if you noticed that one vendor charged $39/ user per month and another charged $200,000 up front, you might show the $39 provider with a score of 10 and indicate that it provided the least cost option compared to other alternatives. You will need to provide a discussion of the scoring scale that you used ( you typically define a scoring scale prior to conducting an analysis). You can provide your discussion/comments in the worksheet or in a separate document. 5.
