Solve both A and B, please show which numbers were gathered from NAAQS limits please.

(30 pts) This problem attempts to provide you with some experience similar to what you may encounter when you get your first engineering job. Suppose your supervisor assigns you the task of choosing an instrument that can measure and monitor the concentration of particulate matter emitted from a smoke stack. The particles of interest are fine particles with an arithmetic mean diameter based on mass measured to be Dj,am (mass) =1.75m and with an average particle density of 1960kg/m3. You may assume SATP conditions. (a) Look up the NAAQS limit for PM 2.5 particulate air pollution (use the mass concentration value listed for a 24-hour averaging time). At this recommended safe level, convert from mass concentration to number concentration for the particles emitted from your stack. Give your answer in (millions of particles)/ /m3. (b) Do some Internet searching about instruments that measure particle concentration. Specifically, briefly summarize how these instruments work. For your application, the instrument must be able to measure PM2 and provide number concentration data (\# particles /m3 ) in the range of 0 up to at least ten times the value you calculated in Part (a). Recommend an instrument for your supervisor to purchase. Summarize your reasons for choosing this instrument, including cost. As always, provide references
