The products in question are standard rated. A VAT rate of 15% applies in all cases. Calculate all answers to a maximum of 2 decimal places. a) Widgetz currently has a marked price for each product they sell at R1 399 each. The margin they earn on average is 45% in comparison to the cost price. Calculate the cost price of their products. (3) b) Bizcuitz has a cost price of R100 per packet of their homemade biscuits. They want to achieve a markup of 50% on their products. Calculate the marked price that they should use for the end customers. (3) c) Cameras currently has a cost price of R1 699 per furniture product and have a marked price to the customer of R2 799 per product. What is the margin they earn on each product? (3) d)Calculate the cost price and original markup percentage on the cost of a product that was marked for R1 800 including VAT, and on which a gross profit of 30% on sales was made after a trade discount of 3% had been allowed. (6)
