• The mean number of wins for the population of all National Football League teams was 7.969 with a standard deviation of 3.036.

• Calculate the z score for the Braves and for the Falcons. Which team did better? Why?

1. A population of 150 students from the Podunk School of Nursing reported the typical number of hours they sleep on a weeknight. The mean number of hours was 6.65 and the standard deviation was 1.24.

• Think about how many hours of sleep you typically get on a weeknight and calculate your z score based on this population. Explain your result.
