Statistics are showing that a high number of incarcerated offenders are reporting a history of substance use and abuse. There has been a significant shift in how incarcerated offenders are supported with reintegration and being a good neighbour. Research and provide examples of these alternatives programs and strategies that are currently in (at least one program should be from the Canadian Corrections System, other examples can be from outside of Canada). Choose a client from In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts and explain how these systems would support their journey through addiction. Provide an overview of research, data, and evidence-based practices that supports or refutes these prison systems.
