Status and capacity are a concept of civil law which used to be of high importance for scientific study in legal history, as these have been key elements in the re-discovery on ancient Roman ius peregrinus. Status, as a Latin word, only refers to Roman law understanding of defining jurisdiction for a court case; whether a status of Roman citizen or a status of a foreigner. Modern civil law has very limited use for the concept of status.
