Circular aluminum fins with thermal conductivity of 186 W/m.C are attached to the outer tube wall with outer diameter of 6 cm, constant thickness of 1 mm and 3 mm space between the fins. The tube with fins is exposed to the surrounding air at temperature of 25 C, with a heat transfer coefficient of 40 W/m.K. The fin effectiveness is 11.8. a) Analyze the enhancement of the heat transfer from the tube per meter of its length with and without addition of the fins. b) Suggest for improvement of the present fin design, if more enhancement is needed to remove the heat from the system.
