a) We will enter all the values in the column headed, "x???2"-go to cell B5 and enter the command "=power(A5,2)" and hit enter
b) To enter the remaining values in this column-click on the lower right hand corner of cell B5 and "drag down" keeping the left button on the mouse down the whole time (Fill Handle)(you can also double click the fill handle box)
c) We need to find the sums of column headed "x" and the sum of the column headed "x??2"--go to the cell A46 and enter the command "=sum(A5:A44)"; or enter "=sum" and highlight the data in this column; or click on the 'autosum' icon from the home page.
d) Go to cell B46 and repeat this last step to find the sum of the "x???2values-cellsB5:B44
e) Go to cell D4 and type "sample size (n)", then go to cell D5 and enter the command =count(A5:A44) and enter.
