Students are required to write an individual review paper about any existing operating system. Students will need to mention a brief history and design principles of the operating system, present a detailed understanding of the technology used in process and memory management, its file systems, security used, etc. The formal report should be written up as if it were a paper for a scientific journal. Look at some published technical journal papers if you are not sure what this means. The total document should be no more than 6 A4 size pages (line spacing: 1.5; fonts: 12 points). Excessive length will be penalized. Proper reference should be given where applicable using the IEEE reference style.
