Studies have shown that low vitamin D is associated with impaired fertility, endometriosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome. Vitamin D regulates the antimullerian hormone (AMH), follicle-stimulating hormone, mRNA, and expression of genes in reproductive tissues, implicating a role in female reproduction. Lata et al. conducted a prospective study to compare AMH levels in infertile and fertile females with vitamin D deficiency. Among the 35 infertile females (group 1), the mean AMH level was 1.94with standard deviation1.30. Among the 35 fertile females (group 2), the mean AMH level was 3.47with standard deviation2.59. Assuming that the population variances are unequal, you need to test the claim that infertile females have lower AMH levels than fertile females using a 0.05 significance level. To do so, answer each of the following questions.

If you were instead told to assume that the population variances are equal, what value would you use for the denominator of the test statistic, i.e. the standard error of your relevant statistic? (0.11, 0.24, 0.33, 0.49, or 1.03?)

What is the p-value corresponding to the test statistic? (0.0004, 0.002, 0.05, 0.996, or 0.9996?)
