Study the effect of a dual listing or major action on the share price and the financial performance of a company of your choice:

1 Select a company (on any major stock market and in any industry) that went through the process of a dual listing, similar to that described in the CIB example, which we discussed in class, or where the company faced a major issue within the last 20 years (to ensure sufficient information is available) eg BP and the Deepwater Horizon issue.

2 Obtain the companys historical share prices in its original market (before and after the dual listing / event took place). Review the action and share price and comment on it

Obtain the companys financial statements (two years before and 2 years after the dual listing or event) and calculate 6 ratios that you think are important and relevant to the industry in which the company operates as we discussed in class).

4 Analyse your results, by studying the impact that dual listing or the event had on the companys share price and whether the changes in ratios (for good or bad) were reflected in the market valuation and if the share price valuations remained close in both markets.

Explain your reasonings within the paper and whether the dual listing was positive for the company or whether the event which the company faced was reflected in the share price and the financials and describe and comment on them.
