SUBJECT : ACCOUNTING SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
MICROSOFT ACCESS
SYSTEM DESIGN
Now that the process development phase has been finished, KBSS is ready to start implementing the latest KBSS Inventory system. Your IT management team has decided to build a server to solve stock issues utilizing MS Access. Based on your understanding of MS Access which you gained during your UiTM System Analysis and Design course, you have identified a variety of server specifications.
En Mail has provided the following additional information:
i.Every product is located in one specific branch, but one branch can have more than one product.
ii.Every product has one vendor, but some vendors can supply more than one product.
Based on your earlier analysis, the database must support the following requirements:
1)For vendor, you need to store the vendor ID, vendor name, vendor address, vendor phone, vendor state and region and any relevant information.
2)For product, you need to store the product code, product name, product type, product description, product picture and any relevant information.
3)For branch, you need to store the branch ID, branch contact number, branch address, branch location, branch representative and any relevant information
You are required to:
1.Create THREE (3) tables in Microsoft Access as below:
i.Vendor Table
ii.Product Table
iii.Branch Table
2.Identify at least FOUR (4) attributes for each entity.
3.Your database for inventory system should contain the following information:
i.A start page with Your Company Logo (you can design your own logo), name of the system ("Company name" Inventory System) and two buttons as below
One button is linking to the main menu and labelled as "ENTER"
One button is for user to quit application and labelled as "EXIT"
Create this page using form in form design. You must set this page to appear when the user first enters into the system.
ii.A main menu with buttons linking to the forms, queries and reports. You need to help users to navigate through database.
iii.Forms for Vendor Details, Branch Information and Product Cataloguing. Use your creativity to design these forms. These forms should have:
One button to navigate to the next page and labelled as "NEXT" or you can use any appropriate sign
One button to navigate backward labelled as "BACK" or any appropriate sign
One button to save records
One button to print records
One button to delete records
One button to exit
iv.Queries for vendors, products and branches such as:
Specific product (user can view pictures and description of the product)
Product by vendors
Product by branches
Add relevant Queries
v.Reports for product, vendors and branches
List of all available products
List of all vendors
List of all branches
Add relevant Reports
vi.You are required to create a dummy data to test your database: Create at least.
15 Vendors
5 Branches
30 Products
