Problem question: Simon and Emmanuel both decided to quit and find another job. While Simon finds a job directly, Emmanuel struggles. Soon, Emmanuel is no longer able to afford his part of the rent. Simon suggests that Emmanuel should apply for unemployment benefits. Simon loves his new job but he soon discovers that the training he is obliged to undertake for his new employers is reimbursed for German workers but not foreigners. Additionally, when comparing his pay with his co-workers he realises that he receives less.
