The company has a huge work force and so there are huge cash and bank transaction during each month. In the month of Jan 2020 the company has observed that some of the entries made in the cash book and bank book are not proper. You have been recently appointed in the company as a senior account officer. Based on your understanding, about the Topic discussed above, you are required to write the cash /bank book for the month of Jan 2020. The transaction for the month of Jan 2020 are given below.
Note ** in case of shortage of funds in bank, Overdraft facility has been arranged.
1-Jan Opening Balance of Bank is RO 500,000 and Cash is RO 20,000
2-Jan Withdraw cash from Bank RO 50,000
3-Jan Purchased goods from Dawood LLC RO 100,000 and issued cheque after deducting 5% discount
4-Jan Sold goods to Salman for RO 4,000 on 20 days credit
5-Jan Paid Water Charges for the month of Dec RO 4,000.
6-Jan Purchased Air conditioner from Daikin Aircon for RO 30,000 and paid the bill by cheque
7-Jan Purchased goods on cash from Al Fursan for RO 2,000
8-Jan Paid rent for the previous month RO 500 by cheque
9-Jan Paid online Electricity Charges for the previous month RO 6,000.
10-Jan Withdrawn from Bank RO 5,000 for purchase of Furniture for Home
11-Jan Sales of goods on cash RO 6,000
12-Jan Received RO 4,500 from customer directly in the bank.
13-Jan Interest credited by the bank in our account RO 650
14-Jan Received cash from old customers RO 6,000 for sale made in the last month.
15-Jan Al Mahrouqi Enterprise purchased goods from us for RO 8,000 less cash discount 5%.
16-Jan Withdrawn from Bank RO 10,000 for office use
17-Jan Purchased goods from M/S Al Fursan for RO 30,000 and paid Cheque on acount for RO 30,000
18-Jan Purchased furniture for office from M/S Teejan RO 18,000 for which RO 4000 was on cash the balance amount was to be paid in 10 equal monthly instalment from the end of this month.
20-Jan The delivery truck met an accident on the road. The police imposed a fine for RO 1000.
