Subjects were 259 female and 102 male students (plus two who did not indicate their gender) who were

enrolled in 11 undergraduate and 2 graduate classes at a large urban university ... with a median age of 24.

They completed an anonymous questionnaire of 17 experiences and the subjects indicated how many times

they had "ever had each of the following experiences." Responses were coded as 0 (if it has never happened to

you), l (if it has happened to you once or twice), 2 (3 to 5 times), 3 (6 to 10 times), and 4 (more than 10 times).

Table 1 presents the mean scores of male and female White and Hispanic students in their responses to the

questions about the frequency with which they had experienced each of the 17 types of aggression... None of the
