Sub-Saharan Africa has become a new frontier for Asia's large and growing economies, especially China. China has taken a "no strings attached" stance in its dealings with sub-Saharan Africa, offering aid and low interest loans along with a nonintervention approach to domestic affairs. In return, many sub-Saharan African countries have been more than willing to provide China access to their vast reserves of raw materials. However, such practices have left many skeptical of China's underlying motivations in this region. Using the textbook outline the benefits and drawbacks of China's aid and trade programs in the region. What have been some of the unforeseen positive and negative consequences of China's involvement
