It makes sense if a person loses a phone they report it stolen but guess what?, not the card. As when you access the app, your pin number must be entered in order to get the scan code. So even if your phone is stolen, you would not have to report your debit or credit card because you can just go back home and get it to buy another phone if needed. Shamika #2 - As I researched products to give myself ideas, I came across the self-stirring coffee mug. At first I thought it was a joke until I saw there was a link to purchase it on Amazon. The first thing that came to my mind was how much I hate the residue at the bottom of cup from my hot chocolate. As ridiculous as this product might sound I think it is innovative and just plain genius for many reasons. First and foremost, it's a unique and never before seen or made item. Second, it shows how we can play around with technology; kind of like a sneak peek to our future's utensils. Third, it's definitely a new method of mixing your favorite drink, whether it's cold or hot.The self-stirring coffee mug was invented by Evelots Corporation that invents many novelty type items. Before I stumble across it, I never heard of the mug and because I'm usually the last to hear about things I asked everyone I knew if they ever heard of it. Each individual replied, no and they would buy it or at least want one. I checked out the reviews on Amazon and majority of them were satisfactory commons. The few that disliked it was not because of the specialty of it, but because the battery life is short and the rotary keep sticking. Like many of their products such as their button extenders, ab wheel, and dryer balls are more like crafty, helpful gadgets, and conveniences on life kind of purchases.I think because it is an intrapreneurship product it wasn't pushes to be advertised widely. I think that may have hindered the ability of how much profit it could be actually making. I say this because most people will buy it for themselves or someone else, if they knew it was out there. Consumers in general will keep it even if they're displease with it just because they don't want to ship it back or tell their friend that they don't like it. I think it should be more advertised because it's something a lot of people would at least be interested in, whether it's for a purchase or just to see it on a commercial.Entrepreneur products are more likely to be advertised everywhere because they want to guarantee the success of their product. A corporation like Evelots own many products and work with many businesses to help substance their profits. I feel that it is both an advantage and disadvantage for intrapreneur products. The advantage is they are usually inexpensive items and could be found at a variety of vendors. The disadvantage is the products might not reach as much potential customers because they don't get advertised like other popular well-advertised items. During my research I discovered many products that was very innovative but I never heard of or seen. Somewhere down the line someone decided that it wouldn't sell enough to cover the advertisement fees so they ended up just being sold on sites like Amazon. The device was introduced to the market by Steve Jobs, however it was nearly six months later before the device was available to the public. The iPhone was known to be revolutionary with an innovative design. It gained a burst of attention because it required very little hardware. AT&T became an exclusive distributor of the device. The approach used in introducing it was intrapreneurship. Since Steve Jobs used AT&T to introduce the device, he was behaving like an entrepreneur, but with a larger business (Fidlin, 2011) . One of the big disadvantages of releasing the iPhone with AT&T is that many customers would have to switch their current mobile subscription to AT&T in order to get an iPhone. This could cause them to obtain early termination fees with their current carrier, deposit fees with AT&T, and possibly higher monthly rates. The customers already with AT&T wouldn't have a problem getting the phone, other than a possible increase in monthly charges. Apple faced many challenges when trying to bring the device to the market. They had to obtain operating permits from the FCC, patents on all their software, and the short battery life. With new each release, a new issue arises with problems with the phone. With the first iPhone there was the problem with the proximity sensor on the phone not being good enough, resulting in dropped calls. Not to mention the strain on the battery life on the phones wouldn't support many of the features available. The third generation iPhone had a plastic back which resulted in overheating and melting. The icons would often show the wrong applications or disappear. And with the iPhone 4 when people hold the phone their hand covers the antenna resulting in dropped calls, as well as the volume rocker not working correctly. As with any device there are going to be problem when it's introduced to the market.
