Supplies and Labor Cost. The MHC serves as an outpatient clinic for the citizens in the XYZ Area. Medicines, drugs, and various medical supplies must be obtained, and cost estimates must be made for each month. In addition to physicians who are available in contract basis at a cost of $50,000 a month, nurses salary costs are $40,000 a month. Other employees are engaged on a part-time basis at a cost of $11.00 per hour. Past experience shows that one part-time person is required for every 50 patients served in a month. The typical part-time employee works 100 hours in a month.
The cost of medicines and various supplies varies at the rate of $5 per patient served plus a fixed cost of $15,000 for medicine and supplies each month.
An estimate was made of patients to be served in the last quarter of the year. In October, 900 patients are expected to be served, 1,100 in November, and 1,200 in December.
Required:
Prepare a schedule showing the cost of the medicines and other supplies for each month.
According to the estimates, how many part time people will be needed each month, and at what cost?
Prepare a budget schedule showing the costs of contract services, salaries, medicines and other supplies, and part-time labor costs each month.
